Amano in Minobu!

This was super interesting. I recently visited the Kishinobo temple area in Minobu, Japan, and noticed a beautiful icon-like painting there. It looked like it could've been painted by Yoshitaka Amano. Didn't actually think it was his work though.

Turns out it was! After some research I found out that one of the Nichiren sect monks there is a huge Final Fantasy fan and had commissioned a painting of the Lotus Sutra from Amano himself to commemorate the 800th anniversary of their founder.

So yeah, pretty random find but so cool! 😀
